beyond the understanding of Autopoiesis,
Biology of Cognition, Biology of Love
and Liberating Conversations
The Matriztic School of Santiago invites people of different practices and work orientations to participate in our English facilitated course about the cultural-biological matrix of human existence. The program is designed for persons coming from all over the world that may flow in English in reflexive and scientific conversations in which we will deepen in the comprehension about the fundaments about humanness, cognition, liberating conversations and the nature of living beings. We invite to this course in order to generate a space in which the participants may accomplish through different moments, conversations, questions and reflections a systemic-systemic expansion of consciousness about their comprehension about the fundaments of humanness, cognition, liberating conversations and the nature of living beings.

Understanding how we generate the different worlds that we live as well as our personal and social responsibility in what happens in them. And we wish to do so through understanding the biological-cultural operational and relational matrix in which we exist. And in the process we expect to expand our vision and listening in a way that will permit us to see in depth the nature of the circumstances that we may be living, to comprehend the systemic relations in which those circumstances are relevant, and to find or invent some adequate action that will permit us to modify those circumstances if we wish to do so, in any domain or any community in which we may be living.
Provide an introductory comprehension of:
- The biological-cultural nature of our human living through the understanding of the biological processes that gave origin to it and that still constitute the fundaments of our current existence;
- The different domains in which living beings exist as molecular autopoietic systems through the understanding and comprehension the nature of the evolutionary process;
- The biological-cultural nature of the worlds that we inhabit as we generate them by living them;
- The organism-niche unity in which occurs the living of living beings in general, and the living of us human beings in particular;
- The operational-relational nature of language and conversations, our living and co-existence in networks of conversation that constitute the generation, realization and conservation of our biological-cultural living; and
- The nature of explaining and comprehending as core themes of the cultural-biological dynamics in which human existence occurs.
Humberto Maturana Romesín (Santiago, Chile 1928)
Co-founder of the Matriztic School of Santiago
Son of Olga Romesín and Alejandro Maturana studied medicine at the University of Chile and Biology at the University College of London and Harvard (PhD) and worked as a Post Doctoral in the MIT, developing innovative scientific works. Then he returned to the School of Medicine in Chile. Later he co-founded the Science Faculty (University of Chile) with other scientists, of which now is Professor Emeritus. In 2000 he found with Ximena Dávila the Matriztic Institute that became in Matriztic School of Santiago at 2010. He has received several national and international awards due to his vast scientific work in his intent to understand living being (autopoiesis), language and cognition (biology of language and cognition) humanness (biology of love) and with Ximena Dávila the biological-cultural Matrix of Human existence (cultural-biology), among others.
Ximena P. Dávila Yáñez (Santiago, Chile 1952)
Co-founder of the Matriztic School of Santiago
She is an epistemologist, as well as family and organizational counselor. Developer of the art and science of Liberating Conversations.
She studied individual and family counseling with a specialization in “work place relationships” at the Instituto Profesional Carlos Casanueva (ICC). She has worked for different companies as well as for Chilean Government. Her concern and fundamental study has been the understanding of the human pain and suffering for which people ask for relational help. By following this path she has developed a particular way of understanding called “Liberating Conversation” of which she has made an art under the fundaments of the biology of the cognition and the biology of love. In 2000 she founded, together with Humberto Maturana the Matriztic institute, today Matriztic school of Santiago as a center for research and reflection on humanness from cultural-Biology concept, created by both. In it, Ximena unfolds as a researcher and a teacher.
Cristóbal Gaggero (Santiago, Chile 1976)
Commercial Engineer and Strategic Coordinator. He has developed an ethical action-vision in the field of organizations as human communities that reveals the systemic articulation of the process of cultural transformation in organizations. He has coordinated and accompanied the process of cultural transformation at FIEP (Federation of Industries of Paraná, Brazil) guiding the realization of Dynamic Systemic Map of the whole organization. Nowadays he works as faculty member and researcher at the Matriztic School of Santiago.
Sebastián Gaggero (Santiago, Chile 1986)
Sebastián is a Sociology student at Universidad Alberto Hurtado. Also, he has studies at Bologna and a certification course at Tübingen University. He has focused his work, in general, in understanding the cultural-systemic dynamics that originate and conserve human communities in which we live. Particularly his interest in this domain is to comprehend the role of science in the process. Nowadays he participates as collaborator for the faculty team as well in research for the Matriztic School of Santiago.
The course on the biological-cultural matrix human existence is targeted to people whose interests are directed toward understanding living beings in general and humans beings in particular, whose responsibilities and concerns are related to the awareness and understanding of the nature of human behavior and the dynamics of conservation and change as the generators of worlds that result in the daily coexistence of spaces of well-being or ill-being.
